2025 Filing Fees Waived!

For 2025, filing fees will be waived for all Montana businesses that file by the April 15 deadline. However, if you don't file your report by the deadline, you'll be charged a $15 late fee, and your business may lose its good standing with the state.

How to File Your Montana Annual Report

Montana Annual Reports can only be filed online through Montana ePass. Follow these steps to successfully file your report.

Log into Montana ePass or create a new account if you don't have one.

Access Business Services

Visit the Montana SOS website and navigate to Business Services section.

File Annual Report

Click 'File An Annual Report', search for your business, and select 'File My Renewal'.

Submit & Pay

Complete the form, verify information, and submit payment by credit card.

No. New businesses in Montana are not required to file initial reports. Your first filing requirement will be the Annual Report.

Are there late fees or penalties if I don't file my Montana Annual Report?

If you miss your due date, you will be charged a $15 penalty fee, and your business may no longer be in good standing. Montana also will dissolve domestic LLCs and corporations that fail to file by December 1st. Foreign LLCs and corporations that fail to file by November 1st will be revoked.
